Mission Statement

The purpose of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Administration Division is to implement all CDBG funded programs in compliance with both Los Angeles County and Federal requirements. This division processes all Memoranda of Understanding (MOU's) and agreements with Los Angeles County Community Development Commission, and processes all invoices, payment requests and drawdown requests.

Programs funded with CDBG funds are approved by the City Council and must be used to serve low to moderate income residents. On an average, the City will have anywhere form fifteen to twenty-five programs funded and running at any given time.

Human Services Association, a non-profit agency provided Bell Gardens residents with the following services.

Rio Hondo Boys and Girls Club

Gives youth in the city an enriching environment in which educational services such as tutoring, homework assistance, nutrition education, hygiene instruction, career enhancement, and leadership development are provided.
