The Commission is created and established in order that a community may have the option of operating and governing its redevelopment
activities housing responsibilities. the Commission operates pursuant to the
California Redevelopment Law, State of California Health and Safety Section
33.000. The Commission is also created and established for the purpose of exercising any other powers regarding community development which the legislative body of a community may desire to delegate to the commission subject to such conditions as may be imposed by the legislative body.
The Community Development Commission meets on the second and fourth Mondays of
the month in conjunction with the City Council meeting, which convenes at 5:00 p.m. for Executive Closed Session with the regular meeting commencing at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers at 7100 S. Garfield Avenue, Bell Gardens, CA 90201.
