Sergio Infanzon

Sergio Infanzon : Council Member

Sergio Infanzon is an achievement-focused community leader with more than 18 years of experience serving our community at a local, state and national level. Sergio has been an advocate for social justice, higher education, empowering working families, developing community-based programs to address the needs of the youth and children, and has positively impacted the life of thousands of individuals.

In 1993 he enrolled at East Los Angeles College where he became a student leader and got involved in the student government organizing career’s day, job fairs, tutoring programs, and other important activities that benefitted thousands and thousands of students. In 1996 the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers awarded him the Los Angeles area “Student of the Year”. A year after he became the student representative for three states (Arizona, Southern California, and Nevada) with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers. Due to his involvement and service provided to promote higher education, the Honorable Hilda Solis, appointed Sergio to the California Student Opportunity and Access Program Advisory Committee, where he represented every student in the state of California for four years

Sergio is an active church youth leader that has provided counseling and advice to more than one generation of youth members and others. Based on his dedication in serving the public and throughout a nation-wide literacy program in which his Church participated, Sergio was identified by the White House as one out of 60 youth to go to Washington D.C. and help in the development of academic programs for low-income, high-risk urban neighborhoods.

Sergio Infanzon is a dedicated professional individual with strong organizational, technical, and interpersonal skills. He is an innovator with strong leadership and management skills, but overall he understands the needs of our community and its residents because he struggled as many of us and serving the public is in his heart. Sergio has been presented with numerous awards and recognitions for his dedication, commitment, and hard work in trying to improve our communities. He is currently a project manager administering a $117 million dollars program as an employee of the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Sergio believes that with the proper tools and resources a person can create opportunities that will open doors to become better individuals and benefit society, and he is committed to provide those tools and resources to every resident of Bell Gardens.
