Bell Gardens Emergency City Council Action Regarding County’s “Safer at Home” Order for the Control of COVID-19 and Governor’s Executive Order
At the March 20 Emergency City Council Meeting, the Council adopted a resolution affirming the Los Angeles County of Department of Public Health’s “Safer at Home” Order and the Governor’s Executive Order N-33-20 for the control of COVID-19. The resolution affirms that the provisions of both orders have the full force of law within the City of Bell Gardens.
The purpose of these orders is to control the spread of COVID-19 by further restricting and limiting the gathering of persons and requiring the closure of malls, shopping centers, children’s playgrounds, and non-essential retail businesses. The “Safer at Home” order became effective on March 19 at 11:59 PM and continues through April 19.
