Dear Business Owner:

In light of the current COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) pandemic and recent actions taken by the State of California and the County of Los Angeles, we are asking for your cooperation in abiding with the Governor’s Executive Order and the County Health Officer’s Order which were created to protect the most vulnerable members of our community.  We realize these actions may have detrimental impacts on your business but are necessary to protect our public health as well as our economy.  Although the Order expires on April 19, 2020, the situation is constantly changing.  Therefore, we ask that you keep up-to-date by viewing the County website when possible.

Attached is the latest County Order dated March 21, 2020, which replaces the previous Order of March 19, 2020.  In summary, the Order identifies a protocol for preventing the virus from spreading further by closing businesses that are considered “Non-essential” while maintaining, but restricting, businesses that are considered “Essential”.  The list is extensive, so we ask that you carefully review the County Health Officer’s Order to see where your business falls.  Please note, failure to abide by the Order will result in fines, imprisonment, or both, pursuant to California Health and Safety Code 120295 and Los Angeles County Code 11.02.080.

If you are unclear about the Order and/or have any questions, please feel free to contact me or our staff from 7:30am to 6:00pm Monday through Thursday at (562) 806-7724 or via email at  If you have an urgent need outside regular City Hall hours, you can call me directly on my cell phone at (562) 379-1945.  We will do everything we can to assist you and your business, including connecting you with any available Federal, State and County resources to help during and after this crisis.
