Bell Gardens Council Member Pedro Aceituno has earned a reputation for his innovative, community-based programs to address public safety, low to moderate-income housing, business development and other challenges facing the community. Council Member Aceituno was also one of the youngest elected officials to serve as a Mayor in Los Angeles County.
During Council Member Aceituno’s leadership, the City of Bell Gardens completed one of the biggest retail shopping developments in the City’s history. In addition, he has spearheaded clean up and fix up programs for homeowners, created new jobs, park improvements, new recreational programs, expanded senior citizens activities, and put more police officers on the streets of the community.
Council Member Aceituno is continually working on promoting a positive city image including a business-friendly environment and professional organization at City Hall that benefits the entire community.
Unfortunately, graffiti is a major problem in most urban cities including Bell Gardens. Council Member Aceituno is doing everything possible to eliminate this visual blight through a graffiti abatement program, which provides local business owners and residents with the labor and materials to remove graffiti from their property at no cost.
A life-long resident of Bell Gardens, Council Member Aceituno is a 1991 graduate of Bell Gardens High School. He is married and has two children.
