From a working-class family and daughter of immigrants, Lisseth Flores is a proud Bell Gardens native.
Growing up experiencing socio-economic inequalities and lack of resources in her city, she was inspired to organize her community and run for office. Lisseth began campaigning for city council when she was just 8 weeks pregnant, she went on to defeat long seating opponents in the November 6, 2018, general election in the city of Bell Gardens. In December 2018, Lisseth was unanimously elected Mayor Pro tem.
Lisseth advocates a progressive platform on the advancement of gender inequality, women’s rights, youth investment, special needs education, social-economic equality, environmental justice and fair housing.
In only 6 months on the council Mayor Pro tem Lisseth Flores has been able to implement a one of kind youth employment program in her city, spearheaded a pageant focused on special needs awareness, championed an array of free community events and sits as an elected board member on the independent cities association as the only woman on the board.
Lisseth graduated from Bell Gardens high school and attended CSU Dominguez Hills where she majored in political science. Soon after she became a part of the finance industry working at Wells Fargo as a business banker.
When she's not at city hall or community meetings Lisseth can be found spending time with her husband and her baby Aristotle.
