Safe and Sane Fireworks Permit Application
On May 11th, 2026, the City Council adopted Ordinance No. 967, which allows for non-profit organizations to apply for the sale of Safe and Sane Fireworks in the City for this year’s 4th of July holiday.

State Surplus Land Act & Offering Memorandum Update
This process has been completed. The City is furthering its efforts for redevelopment of a vacant parcel and the development of much needed affordable housing. The City is currently in escrow with an affordable housing developer for the Former Berk Oil and Pacific Metal Craft located at 5600-5636 Shull Street and the Former Ace Hardware Store located at 7601 Eastern Avenue.
