Draft Climate Action Plan

The CAP would serve as a strategic plan to mitigate the effects of climate change through greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reductions targeting the construction, energy, transportation, and waste sectors, and to address environmental challenges and opportunities within our community.

The CAP is necessary in order to address the impacts of climate change on the City; including increased heatwaves, wildfires, flooding, and air pollution and to enhance the City’s sustainability. The CAP will involve collaboration with community-based organizations, County of Los Angeles Supervisor Hahn’s Office, the Los Angeles Department of Communities for Environmental Justice, the Los Angeles Department of Public Works, and the Bell Gardens Planning Commission. The CAP would also be connected to relevant regional and state planning efforts to ensure alignment with broader climate resilience goals, including the California Climate Adaptation Planning Guide and Los Angeles County Climate Action Plan.
